Julia was recruited by USC from Poland as a national 3000m steeplechase champion. She has run track most of her life, combining her passion for food and sports. After obtaining her Bachelor in Science in physical education at the Academy of Physical Education in Poland, she transferred to USC where she got her Bachelor in Science in 2007 in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and her Masters in Science from California State University, Los Angeles in Nutritional Sciences in 2013. At USC, Julia became the first All-American and school record holder in the 3000m steeplechase.
As an athlete, she traveled the world competing. In 2016 she placed 3rd in the LA Marathon with a time of 2:44.44. Her passion for sport led her to coach 3 years of cross country and track at Cal State LA, where she successfully applied her knowledge of sports and nutrition, having her athletes qualify for national championships for 3 consecutive years.
Julia’s experience ranges from working with middle school girls (USC’s PLAY program), speaking at leader’s conference for Student run LA, teaching the national French track & field team, 4 years of teaching cooking classes to USC athletes, teaching parents and children fitness and nutrition classes at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and working with a lot of individual amateour and professional athletes and Olympians. She has also worked as a clinical trials coordinator at USC school of Gerontology on feasibility, safety and effects of fasting on cognitive and immune functions in humans.
Julia worked for 3 years at Sports Academy (former Mamba Sports Academy) as a sports dietitian and run club coach. In 2019, she accepted a new position as a tactical dietitian for the US Army in Washington State. In 2022, she placed 2nd overall (1st masters) in the Eugene marathon. She is still coaching, training and teaching sports nutrition to kids, amateur, and professional athletes. Apart from her civilian job, Julia is part of the Army reserves as a dietitian and company commander of 921 Field Hospital based in Bell, California. Her unit provides medical care in real world missions, currently completed one in Morocco.
